In this short article, we’ll cover

• Why ventilation matters

• How it works

• What to look for

The truth about ventilation

While having a soundproof booth is great, it’s not going to get used much if it gets stuffy inside and you won’t get the most from your investment. Note that temperature and CO₂ levels affect concentration too, so good ventilation is essential. If the air within the booth is replaced every 30–40 seconds, you should have a place that’s equally good for quick calls or longer work sessions.

Fan power

Virtually every soundproof phone booth in the market uses fans to power their ventilation, but there’s a huge variance on how they do it.

The best booths will use two or three fans; the cheapest may try to get away with just the one. Higher-quality booths have more fans for two reasons: they want to ensure a healthy supply of fresh air to keep it comfortable, and the soundproofing measures mentioned earlier restrict the flow of air and thus need more fan power to keep the air flowing through the system.

What to look for

• More than one fan per square meter

• Air replaced every 30–40 seconds

What to avoid

• One fan (or less) per square meter

• Air replaced every 60+ seconds

A rule of thumb...

If the air isn’t being replaced every 30–40 seconds, the booth will feel uncomfortable faster than you expect.

Key Takeaways

•Ventilation directly affects comfort, focus, and how often people actually use a booth.

• A high-quality booth should fully replace air every 30–40 seconds.

• Better soundproofing requires stronger ventilation systems and more fan power.

• Quality booths typically use two or three fans instead of just one.

• Poor ventilation quickly leads to discomfort, heat, and rising CO₂ levels.

• The easiest way to evaluate ventilation is to spend several minutes inside the booth yourself.

In summary

Ventilation might not be the first thing you think about when comparing booths, but it has a direct impact on how usable the space really is. If people don’t feel comfortable inside, they simply won’t use it.

We’re not telling you that Persy Booths is the best, most perfectly ventilated option for you. You can make your own decision – we’re just trying to give you the facts you need to make it.

Step inside and stay there for a few minutes. You'll quickly know if the ventilation is good enough.

If you buy a Persy Booths product and it's not ventilated to your satisfaction, you can return it with a full refund and no questions asked.

(It's just that no one has ever done that yet.)

FAQs (NBQs)

They’re a bit like FAQs, but we call them NBQs. No b*** questions. The questions you need to ask to make sure you are getting value for money.

How quickly should the air be replaced in a good booth?

The air should be fully replaced every 30–40 seconds to keep CO₂ levels low and maintain comfort during longer calls.

How many fans should a quality booth have?

A good booth typically uses two or three fans; cheaper booths often use just one, which limits airflow and comfort. Trust us, you’ll notice

Why do better soundproof booths need more ventilation power?

Because strong soundproofing restricts airflow, better booths need more fans to push air through without compromising acoustic performance. More fans means more quality.
